⛉ ESERA
In August 2025, the European Science Education Research Association (ESERA) held its biennial conference in Copenhagen, attended by 1,750 participants from 59 countries. As Europe's largest gathering of researchers in the field of science education, the event lasted five days and included hundreds of sessions, keynotes and collaborative activities.
I was part of the local organising committee, which consisted of colleagues from IND at the University of Copenhagen, where I acted as the technical liaison. My role focused on developing customised software tools to support the design, planning and verification of the conference programme. This included coordinating the logistics of the sessions, creating internal quality control systems and supporting the technical infrastructure behind keynote speeches and meetings.
Based on my background in live audiovisual performances, I also collaborated with the technical team on-site to execute the live sessions. The combination of technical coordination and live event production proved unexpectedly familiar, echoing my past as a VJ at music festivals, but with academic sessions instead of techno and lasers.
However, as a final contribution, I created an audiovisual closing performance in which elements from the research contributions of hundreds of participants were remixed into a festive set for the closing party.
